A New York Times Critic's Pick!
Let us tell you a fairy tale about a prince. In this meta-theatrical tragicomedy, an ensemble of queer and trans performers cast themselves in a thought experiment, imagining the future heir to the British throne as having a life resembling their own. Reckoning with how the forces of power, privilege, and colonization play upon queer lives, Prince Faggot is a raw and radical take on a queer coming of age.

Curtains, Soffits, Flying Tables & Rain
This show involved 3 sets of curtains to assist in scene changes and altering the playing space. A flying table flew in from a soffit center stage for a dinner scene. I technical designed a ‘portable’ arbor that supports 4 pick points and can be moved to varying locations in the theater for future use. It allows for 8 feet of travel.
I also interfaced with J&M Special Effects to implement a rain effect onstage. While J&M provided the rain bar, we built the water capture for the rain effect into the stage platforming. David Zinn used Swisstrax garage floor tiles that allowed water to pass through while also bring color and shape to the stage design. Holes were drilled into the stage platforms that supported these tiles and a water trough was built underneath to collect the water. It was then emptied every night.
